Redbridge schoolchildren share ideas for tackling misogyny
Young people in Redbridge showcased their creativity and thinking in the auspicious wood-panelled chambers of Redbridge Council recently, when they took part in a special conference on tackling misogyny, hosted by the borough.
Witnessed by the Council Leader and key representatives from the local community, the young people shared their anti-misogyny projects and posters, based on their experiences of Step In for Schools curriculum materials.
Ways to help women and girls feel safe in public as well as support for active bystanders were among the exciting and innovative proposals. Several young people had the chance to talk about the importance of learning about sexism and harassment in an interview slot that was featured on the ITV evening news.
